Media Advisory – Environmental Lawyer Uninvited to Peterborough TCE Contamination Meeting doubts PCCHU and MOE can “bury problem”
Dr. Rosana Pellizzari, Medical Officer of Health, Peterborough County-City Health Unit (PCCHU) has “uninvited” David McRobert, a local environmental lawyer to speak at the community update on the indoor air sampling results conducted in some residences on Tuesday night.
The testing was undertaken to identify possible trichloroethylene (TCE) exposure related to the former Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) of Canada site on Monaghan Road and vapour intrusion into homes on Romaine Street and Brioux Avenue.
McRobert, who prepared a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation for his cancelled talk, was first invited by the PCCHU to speak on liability issues at the end of May. He was uninvited by Dr. Pellizzari after 5:30 pm on June 25th. No reasons were provided to him.
